WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner gets publicly criticized for “homophobic remarks”

WWE Hall Of Famer Rick Steiner recently created a lot of buzz in the wrestling industry for his “homophobic and transphobic comments and actions”. Impact Star Gisele Shaw came out and accused Rick Steiner of yelling transphobic slurs at her during WrestleCon. She went into detail about the whole incident on Twitter.

Gisele Shaw was at WrestleCon for an autograph signing event. She mentioned as she was walking toward her table, she heard someone yell out some offensive and transphobic slurs at her. She didn’t respond at the moment, but she later mentioned it to a fellow Impact star who was signing autographs as well.

When she looked over to the person who was yelling slurs at her, she was shocked to see that it was none other than WWE Hall Of Famer, Rick Steiner. She definitely didn’t expect a respected person and someone who was a “hero” to other fans, to behave in such a way. Shaw shared the whole incident in a Twitter post:

“It saddens me to have to write this, but I feel it must be shared.”

Shaw said that she even confronted Steiner regarding his comments, but he continued to insult her. Apparently, he also yelled a homophobic slur at another person that day. Shaw also called out other wrestling legends who were present and witnessed the whole thing but did nothing to stop Steiner or even stand up for her. According to her, they didn’t want to get involved because Steiner was “one of the boys”.

She further said that she was done getting bullied for who she is. Shaw declared that if anyone in the wrestling industry continued to work with people like Rick Steiner, she would condemn those people. She also took a moment to thank her peers at Impact who stood by her and diffused the situation. However, she mentions that Steiner called one of her peers a homophobic slur as well.
