“I’ve always been very appreciative”- WWE Hall of Famer desires to fight Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton from today’s roster
Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre is one of the most dominant forces in the current lot of the WWE Superstars. McIntyre has been on a roll now as he is slated to face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship at the Clash at the Castle Live event. Drew McIntyre had won the no.1 contender match on the night before SummerSlam at SmackDown. McIntyre had defeated Sheamus to seal his spot to face Roman Reigns. Drew McIntyre has been a two-time WWE Champion but has never been a Universal Champion in his career. He had won the WWE Championship for the first time when he defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 on Night 2 of the event.
Drew McIntyre returned to WWE in April 2017 and defeated Bobby Roode in August to win the NXT Championship; He held the title for 91 days before losing it to Andrade in November of that year. In comparison to his earlier self in the firm from 2009 to 2014, McIntyre is now more muscular and powerful. The Opportunity to compete for the major championship has been long waited for McIntyre and he will surely give his best to win the Undisputed Universal Championship.
Drew McIntyre faced Randy Orton at the Hell in a Cell 2020
In 2020, Drew McIntyre had won the WWE Championship for the first time in his career and thereafter defended the title on several occasions against Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley. He entered in a feud with Randy Orton later that year and was successful in defeating Orton at SummerSlam and Clash of Champions event. The following edition of RAW after the Clash of Champions, Randy Orton Challenged McIntyre for a bout at the Hell in a Cell 2020.
Drew McIntyre accepted the challenge and at the event Drew countered Randy’s RKO attempts with a Claymore kick but Randy escaped by rolling outside the ring. Drew McIntyre then again attempted a Claymore kick and Orton countered it into a successful RKO to win the match.
During the latest edition of DDP Snake Pit, Jake Roberts was asked about the opponent he would love to fight against in the ring, to which Roberts replied Randy Orton or Drew McIntyre. Roberts said that he has always been appreciative of the Orton family and thinks that Randy is a tremendous talent but he feels that there is something that Randy does that just not quite perfect and wants to get in the ring to feel it.
“Either (Randy) Orton or Drew McIntyre. I’ve always been very appreciative of the Orton family, I wrestled Bob (Orton), and I’ve watched Bob’s father wrestle. I think he’s (Randy) a tremendous talent and there’s something that he does that’s just not quite perfect and I don’t know what it is. So I want to get in the ring and feel it. I know the one experience I do have with him, you know of course I took his finish and it just felt right to do it, you know? And anybody I feel like that with I know I can have a lot of fun with and experience some things that I haven’t had.”
Drew McIntyre was reportedly forced to withdraw from the live events this weekend due to a severe back issue that he has been dealing with, according to reports from Fightful. While Surgery isn’t expected, drew is still the one to face Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle Live event. Randy Orton too has been out of action due to a back injury and won’t be seen in the ring for the rest of the year.
