Brock Lesnar is legitimately one of the strongest wrestlers of all time. Many superstars who have fought against the Beast Incarnate have praised him for his strength. One of the biggest moments of his career came at WrestleMania 19, where he defeated Kurt Angle to become WWE Champion. The Olympic Gold medalist revealed how the events unfolded before the show.
While speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience, he claimed that Lesnar broke his neck a month before WrestleMania. As a result, the Hall of Famer needed immediate surgery. Kurt Angle communicated with Vince McMahon that he couldn’t compete. However, he changed his decision at the last moment and decided to drop the WWE title to Brock Lesnar.
Kurt Angle proceeded to take time off to heal his broken neck after WrestleMania 19. After he returned, the Wrestling Machine entered into a rivalry with the WWE Champion again. Once again, the latter ended up breaking Kurt’s neck. The 54-year-old detailed the entire incident, which shocked Joe Rogan.
He said, “Brock broke my neck again six months later; he hit me over with a chair, straight over top. You’re supposed to spring it sideways so that you don’t have the pressure of your neck; you know you’re head going down over your neck. So, he hit me straight over and broke my neck again. I have five vertebrae cracked, and so I was out again.”
Kurt Angle also revealed that he had experienced a similar injury four times within two and a half years. Despite enduring injuries and concussions throughout his career, Angle emphasized that the WrestleMania 19 match with Brock Lesnar remains a memorable moment for fans.
Kurt Angle believes that Edge won’t go to AEW
As of October 1, Edge is no longer with WWE. That being said, he is heavily slated to appear at the AEW’s pay-per-view, WrestleDream. Despite the rumors, Kurt Angle believes that the Rated-R superstar wouldn’t jump ship to the rival promotion.
During a recent episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, he commented on the speculations surrounding Edge. According to the Wrestling Machine, the 11-time World Champion is loyal to the Stamford-based promotion. “I just don’t see Edge doing that. I really believe he’s going to be WWE for life,” he said.
Regardless of Angle’s statements, everything points to Adam Copeland debuting soon in AEW. The main event for WrestleDream is scheduled to be the TNT title bout between Christian Cage and Darby Allin. Therefore, fans postulated the reason behind the specific match headlining to be Edge somehow interacting with his best friend.
