With each passing day, it gets more obvious that John Cena‘s time as a WWE in-ring performer is ebbing away. And just to set the record straight, The Cenation Leader is looking to hang up his boots for good before he turns 50. Today, he appeared on The Pat McAfee Show live from WWE World in Philadelphia. Even though he said he’s technically not retired, that window is closing real quick.
Moreover, the 16-time World Champion’s Hollywood schedule for the rest of this year is tied up to his neck. After a few projects here and there, he’ll jump over to film the second season of Peacemaker, which’s slated to begin filming this June. However, John Cena did mention that he’d hope to wrap it up by Christmas so that he could return to WWE for one last run.

Cena basically alluded to the fact that next year could be his last hurrah with his jorts on. And that might prompt the WWE Universe to speculate with whom John would love to have his last dance. But that’s a thing of the future. Having said that, last night at WrestleMania XL, the 46-year-old made a surprise appearance.
(Filming Peacemaker season two) will take us just about through Christmas and I'm crossing my fingers and toes and my heart that maybe, just maybe, I can tell the Hollywood world to pump the brakes for a while and come back to my family for one last run.John Cena about his WWE future post WrestleMania XL
He had a tumultuous run-in during the main event. At first, The Franchise Player unloaded on Solo Sikoa. Cena even nailed Roman Reigns with an Attitude Adjustment, only to outdo Solo with the same through a table at ringside. But soon he was interrupted by The Rock. They had an iconic staredown until John mocked The Final Boss. It proved costly for the Peacemaker star as The People’s Champ executed a Rock Bottom on Cena to render him impotent.
What John Cena told Cody Rhodes after his triumph at WrestleMania?
On April 7, Cody Rhodes fulfilled his destiny. He pinned Roman Reigns to end his 1316-day title reign to finish the story. While The American Nightmare was celebrating out there with everyone, John Cena took him aside for a moment.

The Prototype asked Rhodes whether he could feel that weight in his arms. When Cody nodded in approval, Cena told him something that he needed to hear. The wrestler-turned-actor relayed the word that the baggage of strapping that gold around one’s waist is only going to get heavy every day.
Mr. Hustle, Loyalty and Respect made it loud and clear that that’s the burden a performer must bare when trying to craft the path to being dubbed as the greatest of all time. John hoped that from a year or two from now, fans would see Cody Rhodes in the same light.
