There have been several fantastic feuds in WWE. Some have been personal, and some have changed the course of WWE. One such rivalry was between the Rock and John Cena. The feud between the two greats was once in a lifetime. However, when WWE planned for it for the second time, they were on the verge of making Cena a heel. Recently, the Cenation Leader shed some light on the trivial information in an interview.

During his appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Cena revealed that he was close to turning heel during Rock vs. John Cena II. He revealed that he had prepared a theme song and even wrestling gear for his heel turn. In essence, Cena tried to take his heel to the next level by implementing things like giving up and fewer media appearances in his character.

It was Cena Rock 1. I got word that they were going to do it. I went out and recorded a new song. I went out and got all new gear. I wasn’t prepared for Ruthless Aggression. That was the last time I wasn’t prepared. I mean, I heard rumblings of, we’re going to do it, and in 48 hours, I had a new track, a new studio mix theme song, and a final mix. I had seven new singlets, low-cut singlets with boxing-type robes. I already had the boots in storage, so I dusted them off.

However, this heel turn never took place. After the loss at WrestleMania 28, the 46-year-old went on to win the Royal Rumble 2013 and eventually the main event at WrestleMania 29 against The Rock. The two stars had a marquee clash at the show, where the Cenation Leader redeemed himself after defeating the People’s Champion. It was an iconic match and defined the course of WWE thereafter.

Even so, it never happened. The last appearance of John Cena was at Crown Jewel. He has been the talk of the town on the internet with his OnlyFans shenanigans.

The Cenation Leader talked about the time when his debut flopped big time against Kurt Angle. He revealed that the moment failed because of the lack of aggression in him. The 16-time World Champion went on to say that he lacked the grit and passion required to have an impact. However, it all fell into place after a few years, when he finally won his first WrestleMania.

I think the things that they share in common are gratitude, grit, perseverance, and humility. So, John Cena in 2002 gets to go out and fight Kurt Angle under the impression of two words, Ruthless Aggression. It was a failure because I was neither ruthless nor aggressive, and I wasn't able to see the opportunity. My blinders were, you're getting a chance to go out there, do everything you can, and show them you can wrestle.
