John Cena is one of the greatest icons in pro wrestling. He is truly one of the greatest of all time. Ever since joining Hollywood, the 16-time World Champion has been making rare appearances on WWE. Roman Reigns has been walking in his footsteps, carrying the company forward. In a recent interview, John Cena spoke about Reigns’ rise in WWE over the pandemic period.

While speaking with NotSam Wrestling, Cena discussed Roman’s transition in his WWE career. He said how Reigns went from suffering the audience’s boos to enjoying the fans’ boos. The Cenation Leader believes that The Tribal Chief gimmick of Reigns is the reason for his greatness. Moreover, he called him a “film performer in live entertainment!”

According to John Cena, the presence of the audience was holding him back. He believes that the live fans were obstructing Roman from shifting himself from an over pushed babyface to a perfect heel. The former WWE Champion emphasized that the audience was the issue for a change.

The Cenation Leader feels that the pandemic era helped the Undisputed Champion overcome this certain issue. Roman Reigns returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2020 and has been playing his heel persona since then. John Cena believes it was a transition in his career. Moreover, Cena said that Reigns came from a place where he was unable to craft the things he’d say.

He said,“Fast forward to [now] where he doesn’t have to say a f***ing word”. Roman Reigns is shaping the heel persona with his dynamic personality.
