Well, he’s the GOAT for a reason. A couple of days ago, WWE officially confirmed the homecoming of 16-time World Champion John Cena. He’s slated to appear on the March 6th edition of Monday Night Raw in Boston, Massachusetts. This is going to be Cena’s first WWE appearance in 2023. For what it’s worth, the Cenation Leader is believed to have major implications from the show. With WrestleMania less than 40 days away, there are strong rumors that John Cena will most probably set-up his match at the Showcase of the Immortals.
Now, it goes without saying that everyone is excited to know Cena’s coming home. At the moment, he’s amidst of a filming project in Australia. No word on when the production calls for a wrap. But, it seems like The Franchise Player doesn’t want to delay his WWE commitments at the expense of Hollywood. As far as the ticket selling for Raw in Boston goes, until 2 days ago, WWE had roughly 7,700 tickets sold.
As of writing, that number has skyrocketed pretty well. Per Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has sold 2,000 extra tickets ever since adding John Cena to the show. If this doesn’t indicates how much the fans are excited to witness Mr. Ruthless Aggression Era once again, nothing else will. Going by the current trajectory, the TD Garden in Massachusetts is heading towards a complete sellout.

Austin Theory can’t wait to welcome John Cena on WWE Raw
This past Monday on Raw, the United States Champion Austin Theory brought up Cena’s return in the limelight. He vowed to teach The Peacemaker star a lesson. By the looks, Theory is pumping his adrenaline to roll the carpets for 16-time World Champion, in less than 2 weeks from now. Also, that’s what WWE have planned for WrestleMania well in advance.
Austin Theory will reportedly defend his United States Championship against his childhood hero John Cena at the Show of Shows. Coming from the shores of an emphatic victory over Edge this week in Ottawa, The Now is more confident than ever and now looks ahead to bigger things in his courtyard. For someone as young as Austin Theory, it really is a honor to have John Cena as his opponent at the Grandest Stage of them All.
It appears like the company is planning an in-ring segment between Theory & Cena in Boston to potentially make things official. A back-and-forth verbal exchange between the two generations listed above will be more than enough to get behind their showdown. In June of last year, when John Cena celebrated his 20th Anniversary in WWE, Vince McMahon’s former protege did some hammering over the Prototype in a backstage interaction.
