Johnny Gargano feels that he is still not at the peak of his game after his return to the WWE
Johnny Gargano in WWE
Last week when Johnny Gargano was defeated by Otis due to the interference from Austin Theory, he then stated that he would remind Austin Theory that he was always his sidekick next week on RAW during his match with him. Now, after winning the match against Theory, Johnny Gargano seems to have reminded him of what he had intended.
Johnny Gargano was hungry for a bout with Theory, and he got it. Austin Theory tried to outperform Johnny Gargano with Gargano’s moves but they weren’t effective on him. Johnny Gargano performed his finisher, the DDT, and pinned Mr. Money in the Bank to win the match.
After the match, Johnny Gargano gave a backstage interview to Cathy Kelley, in which he expressed his happiness over winning against Theory and keeping his promise of kicking Theory’s teeth down his throat. Gargano then expressed joy at having Cathy Kelley back at WWE again. Kelley left WWE in February 2020 and returned to the company in October of this month.

Johnny Gargano is grateful for the support from fans
Johnny Gargano returned to the WWE in August on RAW Brand and was one of the many released superstars to return to the WWE after Triple H’s takeover of the WWE. The former NXT Champion’s contract expired last year in December, and he chose not to renew his contract as he wanted to focus on his life as a father.
Gargano’s wife, Candice LeRae, was on maternity leave at the time, and her contract was set to expire in May 2022, but she, too, decided not to extend it. Now both husband and wife are back in the WWE as LeRae, too, returned to WWE in September on the RAW Brand.
Since his release, Johnny Gargano hasn’t competed for any other promotions or on the independent circuit since he has been preoccupied with being a father. Today, Gargano posted on Twitter regarding his form in the ring. He said that although he has returned to form, he is still not at the peak of his game. He then thanked everyone for the support that fans have given him since day one and said that he is grateful to have such fans.
“I feel like I’m slowly getting my groove back but I’m not truly at the top of my game just yet.. but if you’re new to my work or have supported me from day one.. This is just a quick shout to all of you that have my back out there. I hear ya and I’m truly grateful for y’all!”
Now that Johnny Gargano has beaten Austin Theory, it would be interesting to see what Theory does next and how the feud progresses.
