Johnny Gargano is a former NXT superstar who has given some incredible matches in the past. Gargano has a long history with the yellow brand. He held all of the gold on the NXT roster. Moreover, he is known as the “heart and soul” of NXT. The 35-year-old was away from wrestling after his WWE contract expired in December 2021. After that, he returned at this year’s Royal Rumble.

Gargano, who has been away from wrestling for nine months, returned to the red brand on the August 22 episode of Monday Night Raw. The crowd gave him one of the loudest pop on his WWE return. The former NXT champion interacted with the WWE Universe. He also spoke about how he missed being in the ring. On his return, he was confronted by his former NXT friend, Austin Theory.

Johnny Gargano returned to the WWE after nine months.

In an interview with CityNews Ottawa, Gargano revealed that there was a part of him that wasn’t sure how the WWE Universe would react to his return after being away from pro-wrestling for such a long time. “I was kind of relieved, actually, I was worried that people were going to forget me and forget what I did in this ring.“ he said. The WWE Universe welcomed him with chants of “Johnny Wrestling.” Furthermore, the former NXT champion said that he was concerned that people would forget about him and what he had accomplished in the ring. Gargano is known as one of the greatest superstars in the history of NXT. “NXT will always have a special place in my heart,” he stated.

Gargano also appreciated the NXT superstars. He also mentioned that if he ever got the chance to return to the Yellow Brand, things would be very interesting. However, he is part of the main roster now. The former NXT Star has made his intentions clear that his eyes are on the titles. He wants to accomplish them all. He also stated that he had some big hopes and dreams. The list of dream matches is endless for Johnny Gargano on the main roster. With superstars like Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and AJ Styles, it can provide Gargano with the opportunity to be part of some incredible storylines that wrestling fans would love to see.

Gargano also competed in this year’s 30-Mens Royal Rumble match, where he lasted nearly 30 minutes before being eliminated by Dominic Mysterio.

On the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Johnny Gargano wrestled Baron Corbin. He qualified for the Elimination Chamber match for the United States Championship.
