Getting injured at this juncture of WWE programming is the last thing any performer can even think of. Johnny Gargano has suffered the same fate after an AC Sprain (shoulder) got announced for the 3-time NXT North American Champion. On this week’s Raw, Candice LeRae, the wife of Johnny Gargano, said that her husband would be toiling hard to return by the Royal Rumble.

Speaking of when Johnny Wrestling injured himself, it was the December 30th house show in Toronto. Nonetheless, his injury isn’t too devastating at all. Being said that, the former NXT Champion revealed that he’s been advised 4-5 weeks of rest from doctors. Doing some basic maths, this will force NXT’s Iron Man to comprise with his dreams and watch Royal Rumble from home, as a fan.

Dave Meltzer provided a significant update on Gargano’s sensitive injury status. On Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he noted that the Rebel Heart really wants to make it to the Alamodome on January 28th. However, it’s pretty much a “close call” at the moment and nothing is certain.

What is planned for Johnny Gargano in the long run?

Johnny Gargano is primed to be a main-event level player on the main-roster. Despite of the fact that he has done nothing newsworthy till now, there are some huge plans for him in store. In a previous report, Xero News discussed the tentative plans for the 1-time NXT Champion.

According to them, Triple H wants the audience to get familiar with Johnny Wrestling. Once that purpose is served, he’ll supposedly join forces with Tommaso Ciampa, who’s too currently sidelined owing to an injury. But, eventually they’ll reassemble their tag-team known as DIY.

After they’re done with this, both Gargano and Ciampa will be pushed as solo competitors. These all stuff will surely require some time to happen. Good things demand patience and appropriate timing to avail better results. Back in NXT, both of them were wrestling soulmates. They had several jaw-dropping encounters during that period.
