Kevin Owens probably had the pinnacle of his career when he faced Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 38. Not saying that The Prizefighter won’t surpass that ever, but it surely would be a hard nut to crack. Nobody saw this match coming and Stone Cold’s in-ring return was the least calculated scenario for everyone.

19 years of potential desire that was burning inside Steve got unhinged this year. As far as their storyline is concerned, it was a pretty much one-sided affair. Kevin Owens solely built that anticipation in the hearts of WWE Universe. However, the production work in this feud was absolutely a top-notch act. That Stone Cold response video package shot in the barren terrains went hard.

Apart from that, WWE had Owens to mock that iconic Austin 3:16 speech, of his own. The jarring done by French-Canadian against Austin made their clash ever more memorable. And what we witnessed in their match was unreal. The Texas Rattlesnake wrestled a great match, that would land the WWE icon taking several hard bumps. A sheer pandemonium across the AT&T Stadium was palpable.

But, after everything went down, do you know what Kevin was told about this? Chatting recently with New York Post, the former Universal Champion said that he’s still not aware how the Stone Cold match became a reality. Also, he was told by Vince McMahon to Steve Austin himself, this wouldn’t have happened, had it not been for Owens. This in itself was compliment of this universe for the Canadian wrestler.

“I still don’t have a full grasp on how that happened, All I know is I was told by several people, from Steve to Vince McMahon to Bruce Prichard, it couldn’t have been anybody other than you — meaning me — with Steve. There’s really no higher compliment than that for me. It doesn’t get any better than that. I said it the day after the match: It’s all downhill from here.”

As Owens mentioned above, after his match with Austin, it’s all downhill. However, it’s not completely true as he’s currently inserted in the top act of WWE. In fact, he’s rumored to be Roman Reigns‘ next challenger for the Undisputed titles at Royal Rumble.

But, before getting there, he’s got a massive main-event tonight on SmackDown. The world awaits a flabbergasting clash between him and Cena against Reigns and Zayn. This just can’t get bigger than this. Tonight’s massive tag-team match can be a way to spark off the possible crack better Sami Zayn and The Bloodline.

Rumors suggest that Zayn might end up being pinned for his side. This would ultimately mean that Roman Reigns will too lose the match, which in itself is a rare sight. Anyways, on the foremost level, scenes from the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay will be absolutely electric, for the night.
