WATCH: Kevin Owens makes a grand return to save Sami Zayn from the jaws of Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber
Roman Reigns retained his undisputed WWE Universal championship against Sami Zayn at the Elimination Chamber, following the match, Montreal's own Kevin Owens showed up to save his former best friend from The Bloodline's assault.

The bout for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Elimination Chamber lived up to the hype. It’s safe to say that the match between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn exceeded expectations. The crowd in Montreal was lively throughout the match until the end. It was probably the best performance of Sami’s career, as he came so close to becoming the new champion. However, Roman Reigns retained the title in the end, and Montreal was saddened by the result. Fans also saw the return of Kevin Owens in his hometown after the Royal Rumble.
Roman Reigns needed the help of his cousins to overcome Sami Zayn, as he was unable to beat him on his own. Jimmy Uso interfered and attacked Sami when the referee was down. With the help of a distraction by Jimmy and Jey, Roman capitalized and defeated Zayn with constant chair shots and a spear to retain the title.
Following his victory, Reigns preyed on Sami and ordered Jimmy to assault Zayn. However, Kevin Owens entered the Bell Center with a massive reaction from his hometown crowd. Owens came to the aid of his former best friend and took Jimmy out of the way. Kevin then delivered a stunner to Roman and put Jimmy through the announce table.
Owens was then going to assault Roman with a steel chair. However, Paul Heyman tried to save his Tribal Chief and ate a stunner as well. Kevin then encouraged Sami to kick Roman in the face, and Sami delivered a “Helluva Kick.” Following their revenge on The Bloodline, Kevin and Sami looked each other in the eyes before leaving. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens vs. The Usos at WrestleMania 39?
Following the events at the Elimination Chamber, it’s pretty clear that Kevin and Sami will challenge The Usos for the undisputed tag titles at the Show of Shows. The match was previously reported to be in the original plans for WrestleMania this year.
It looks more believable after Jey Uso‘s interference during the main event. Jey looked conflicted as Roman handed him the steel chair to attack Sami. However, just before Jey was going to use the steel chair, Zayn inadvertently speared him.
Jey still hasn’t made it clear whether he stands with The Bloodline or not. However, fans will figure out his status in The Bloodline, possibly on SmackDown next week. It would be interesting to see how the story progresses from here between Sami, Kevin, and The Bloodline.
