Well, not everyone can be a fan of Cody Rhodes. There’s no denying the fact that The American Nightmare is firing on all cylinders right now. Despite not finishing the story against Roman Reigns, he’s incredibly popular among the WWE Universe. However, that’s not enough to make a certain veteran think likewise.

On a recent episode of K100, Konnan revealed his stance on Cody Rhodes’ ongoing character. According to the former, his character feels disingenuous to him. Also, everything Cody does, from smiling to handshakes all the time, seems “super cheesy,” claimed Konnan. The Cuban-American wrestler compared Rhodes to a sales manager meeting a TV evangelist or a politician.

While these matters remain highly subjective, Cody Rhodes is quite a lovable human being. On television, he’s seen garnering the loudest crowd reactions each week. That’s been the case since his return to WWE last year at WrestleMania. His popularity only continues to rise with each passing week.

The Cody-Brock saga has been going on for a while now. Starting with absolutely no reason at all, the feud has come down to a rubber match. Both athletes stand tied at 1-1 after their couple of encounters since WrestleMania 39. And finally, it’s time to know who edges out the rivalry by the barest of margins. This week on Raw, Cody Rhodes officially challenged Brock Lesnar to a match at SummerSlam.

Although Lesnar wasn’t around this week in person to accept it, he’s coming next week. The show would mark Cody Rhodes’ homecoming at the State Farms Arena in Atlanta. For sure, The Beast would love to feast on his prey in front of the latter’s own people. Also, though not official, WWE could add a stipulation to their match at The Biggest Party of the Summer.

Going by the general consensus, this rivalry has been a hit for a few and a miss for the rest. The major criticism is that there was no explanation from Brock Lesnar over why he chose to attack Rhodes in the first place. They’ve been just going at each other ever since. However, in order to keep The American Nightmare hot, WWE needed someone big to put him against the former.
