WWE and Olympics are NOT synonyms

Kurt Angle has been one of the most successful wrestlers of all time. His career in WWE was brilliant. Since he had both the skill and knowledge of the game, he was not put in a long training period as most of the superstars. Soon after making his debut, he started winning championships and hasn’t stopped since then.

Eventually, he made it to the 1996 Olympics and won a gold medal despite having a broken neck. Freestyle wrestling was greatly embedded in his blood and he continued to work towards excellence. He is one of the very few wrestlers to be inducted in both WWE and TNA Hall of Fames.

Kurt Angle has seen wrestling in its truest form. The sweat, hard work, determination and effort that is required in a game is unmatchable to the one WWE showcases in its ring. The squared circle might seem the brawl house of the celebrities but the real battle is fought in an Olympic ring. One does not focus on the audience, lauds and praises during the Olympics but on that one circle of gold.

In one of the interviews, Kurt was asked if there was any guy in WWE right then that can get on the Olympic mat, he bluntly said, “No!” Kurt was crystal clear in his answer. Supporting his answer, he further added, “One’s real sport, one’s entertainment. It’s not the same.” One could clearly see that he was pretty serious while answering the question. Kurt Angle was trying for another shot at the Olympics in 2012 but couldn’t because of injuries. He also considered himself old to give another try at the same. He felt that if he tries again, he would do it only to get his “a*s kicked.” Kurt often makes appearances at various WWE events even after his retirement.
