LA Knight is the hottest act in professional wrestling at the moment. He generates authentic crowd reactions whenever he appears at shows, which serves him as a major attraction. The Megastar seems to be bringing in revenue off-screen for the WWE as well.
According to Wrestlenomics, LA Knight tops the list of highest merchandise sellers for the company in the month of July. He surpassed the likes of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for the top spot. Previously, the 40-year-old was in the fourth position for the month of June.
This statistic shouldn’t come as a surprise given the Megastar’s soaring popularity over the last couple of months. The rise of Knight is impressive, taking into consideration that his booking has been disappointing. Despite this, he has been able to use minimal on-screen time to showcase his charisma.
Many in the WWE Universe believed the trigger on LA Knight should’ve been pulled at Money In The Bank. However, backstage officials thought differently. On the post-show press conference, Triple H said “Great things come to those who wait”, when asked about his hesitation in pushing the former NXT superstar.
LA Knight to compete in Battle Royal at SummerSlam
With only a few days left for the highly anticipated SummerSlam, the match card promises to deliver. The most recent bout announced for the show was a Battle Royal, which apparently looks like a sponsored match from Slim Jim.
Many fans didn’t mind this, as it gave the red-hot LA Knight a chance to compete at the event. As a matter of fact, the Megastar was the first person to declare himself for the match alongside Sheamus. The stakes for the winner of the battle royal have not been announced as of yet.
LA Knight was thought to be in contention for the United States Championship after competing in the Invitational. But he ended up losing to Rey Mysterio. Some people believe that the match at SummerSlam is a way to get Knight on the show. Other participants announced for the battle royal are Chad Gable, Otis, Tommaso Ciampa, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
