SmackDown: New Years Revolution kicked off 2024 in some style for the Blue brand. The show was headlined by the #1 contender triple-threat between AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and LA Knight. In the closing stretches of the enthralling bout, the latter bled during a sequence with the Phenomenal One.

Knight was legitimately busted open on his forehead. However, it seems unlikely that the Megastar bladed. Moreover, this is obviously due to the shift to the PG Era, which established a strict policy involving the same. Since the initiation of the rule, there have been rare sightings of wrestlers deliberately blading on-screen. Currently, there is no official medical update on LA Knight’s health.

The triple-threat main event ended in seemingly no contest. The Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns interrupted the bout alongside the rest of The Bloodline. Furthermore, the trio proceeded to lay out each participant, prompting General Manager Nick Aldis to ‘punish’ The Tribal Chief and book a fatal 4-way for the Royal Rumble.

This will mark LA Knight’s second shot at the championship. Previously, the 41-year-old came short in his initial pursuit at Crown Jewel 2023, losing via a distraction by Jimmy Uso. Since then, he has made it his mission to avenge the loss and to end Roman’s record-breaking World Title reign once and for all.

Has LA Knight been overshadowed by the likes of CM Punk and Randy Orton lately?

The meteoric rise of LA Knight in WWE was one of the fascinating stories of 2023. From being snubbed from the WrestleMania 39 card to facing the biggest superstar in the company, his journey to the top has been riveting. However, the WWE Universe believes that The Megastar’s popularity has waned over the past few weeks.

After the returns of Randy Orton and CM Punk at Survivor Series, many fans have pointed out how Knight is no longer as ‘hot’. Despite the claims online, the 41-year-old’s merchandise sales would say otherwise. Over the course of the past six months, he has managed to stay in the top 10 merch sellers of WWE.

As the company kicks off the road to WrestleMania, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for LA Knight. Speculations surrounding a possible US Title match against Logan Paul have floated online. At the moment, the former IMPACT World Champion is solely focused on claiming his first major title in WWE.
