LA Knight underwent a massive groundswell in the second half of 2023. One of the major highlights of The Megastar was his makeshift alliance with John Cena. They joined forces against Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso at Fastlane and set the fans ablaze. Recently, during an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Knight recounted his experience working with the 16-time World Champion. Moreover, there’s a specific tidbit he shared that piqued immense interest.

Revealing his girlfriend was backstage at WWE Fastlane, LA Knight said once Cena spotted her backstage, he asked Knight if he could meet her. And of course, the Defiant One had no issues whatsoever. Instead, he was baffled at Cena’s generosity in initiating the meet-up with Knight’s partner, Michelle Yavulla. The ex-TNA Superstar thought it was a great moment for his girlfriend, who was herself over the moon after knowing that The Cenation Leader was keen to have a chat with her.

Apart from that, Knight had nothing but respect for the time he got to spend with Cena. The former Max Dupri adjudged The Franchise Player as one of the easiest guys to ever work with. And as the fans figured it out during his two-month sojourn in WWE, John came to put over a couple of names, and LA Knight was one of them. Needless to say, the latter wouldn’t be able to forget his time with John Cena in WWE.

LA Knight can turn it around for himself at the Royal Rumble

After having a breakout year in 2023, LA Knight is eyeing a silver lining shortly. Last week on SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution, Knight was involved in a triple-threat match with Randy Orton and AJ Styles.

The Megastar was on the receiving end when a springboard 450 splash from Styles seemingly caught Knight in the face. After that, the former Eli Drake was busted open. However, he could not get the job done as The Bloodline ruined the entire match. However, following the train wreck, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis told Paul Heyman to inform Roman Reigns that it wasn’t going to end that way.

Instead, he’d now defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble in a Fatal 4-way match featuring Knight, Styles, and Orton. This would be The Megastar’s second opportunity to claim a world title in WWE. Last year at Crown Jewel, he had a chance but was outplayed by The Bloodline’s numbers game.
