Lana fka Catherine Perry is a renowned television figure, especially in wrestling. She’s best known for her work in WWE, where for the most part, she was paired alongside Rusev. The duo are a real-life couple and had quite a dominant showing in the Stamford-based promotion. However, since their release, Rusev (now Miro) headed to All Elite Wrestling, while Lana decided to stay away from the mix.
Despite several teases in the past, the Ravishing Russian is yet to sign with any promotion. Indeed, it takes time to decide what’s best for yourself and the former seems to enact the same. What lies in her immediate future remains to be seen, however, Lana’s recent comments on WWE might’ve just spilled the beans. In a conversation on The Bailey Show podcast, the Mistress of Destruction highlighted those factors which separates WWE from everyone and termed them as the greatest wrestling franchise.
Starting with AEW president Tony Khan, the 37-year-old insisted that she’ll let him run his company, the way he wants. Then, she went on a ride of unstoppable praise for WWE. The prime centres of her address was the variety of elements they inculcate in their programming. Whether it be pure storytelling, any comedic act or a serious segment, WWE aims at injecting maximum dose of entertainment to their fans. Also, Lana admitted how having all these traits are more important for those watching, rather than just wrestling a good match.
“Tony Khan runs his business however he’d like to run his business, I’m going to leave it at that. There’s a reason why WWE is the greatest wrestling franchise and it’s because they value sports entertainment. That’s what WWE is great at; storyteling, bringing comedy battles, funny things, serious things. Personally, it’s why I love WWE because it’s not just wrestling, it’s entertainment as well, and I’m here to entertain and put smiles on faces, not just be the ‘best wrestler.’ That’s where I stand on the two different promotions.”

Lana was involved in a romantic storyline with Bobby Lashley
In what can be called Lana and The Bulgarian Brute’s last WWE hurrah, they were involved in an edgy storyline. Back in 2019, post Lana’s return, she cheated her own husband in Rusev and got along with Bobby Lashley. The newly formed couple would have multiple steamy segments, which fell in fans delight for obvious reasons.
Taking a step further, Lana divorced Rusev and got engaged with The Almighty. Date was set for their divine wedding on the December 30th edition of Raw, back in 2019. However, things took an unexpected turn as Liv Morgan made her return and acted like Lana’s girlfriend. The mess created was enough to pull off a massive number for the red brand. WWE was successful in their attempt to amass as many eyeballs as possible.

After all the shenanigans, the story never received a satisfying ending. The creative failed in their attempt to transform into a huge babyface. Even though they met on several occasions, Lashley always came up on top. Before they could progress the saga, Rusev and Lana were handed their WWE releases.
