UPDATE: Current status of Smackdown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan’s injury revealed
It was a proud moment for all Liv Morgan fans when she won the Money In The Bank Match and cashed in her briefcase on the same night to win the SmackDown’s Women Championship from Ronda Rousey. This would set up a rivalry between the two and a title match was set up at Summerslam. In the forthcoming weeks, the two would exchange verbal insults as Ronda would say that Morgan is not capable of holding the title while Liv asserted that the title means everything to her.
The two would then collide at Summerslam in which Morgan would ultimately defeat Ronda. But the finish of the match itself became controversial when it was revealed that Morgan had actually tapped out to Ronda’s arm bar, but the referee didn’t see it and counted the pinfall on Ronda. The Baddest Woman on the planet would then go on to attack the referee and Morgan after the match for which she was suspended by the authorities.
Liv Morgan’s injury is a part of storyline and not a legitimate one: Reports
When this Friday night SmackDown Liv Morgan entered the ring, she was wearing an arm brace indicating that she had been injured at the bout against Ronda. Though now reports suggest that the injury isn’t legitimate and is a part of the storyline that currently evolves between Morgan, Rousey, and Baszler. Reports suggest that the Smackdown prop department provided the arm brace to Morgan when she arrived at Smackdown. Liv Morgan addressed WWE Universe this past Friday regarding the controversial finish at Summerslam.
It was at this moment that the crowd started to chant- “You tapped out” at Morgan to which Morgan replied- “Thank You for calling me on my s**t.” After the segment, the likes of Rhea Ripley and ring announcer Kayla Braxton took to Twitter to show support for Morgan as they both said that Morgan is a great champion and doesn’t to prove a thing to anybody. Morgan is all set to face Shayna Baszler at Clash at The Castle on September 3rd. Though observers believe that Ronda even after being suspended can intervene in the match, but Morgan is likely to retain the title.
