Liv Morgan has announced herself for this year’s Royal Rumble match on the latest episode of SmackDown. Recently, fans have seen a more extreme and chaotic side of Morgan, following her title loss against Ronda Rousey at Extreme Rules. Morgan, who won the SmackDown women’s championship for the first time last year, has been on the chase to regain her title ever since.
In the recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Liv Morgan let everyone in the locker room know her intentions in a backstage segment. While talking about the Royal Rumble, she said, “I mean 30 women fighting for the same spot sounds like complete chaos. But luckily for me, I live for chaos. … If I had it my way, I would enter the ring first and beat the crap out of every single superstar that came down there after me. So if anyone else in the locker room still thinks that they can come out on top and move on to WrestleMania, Watch me!”
In the same episode, we saw Roman Reigns accept Kevin Owens’ challenge for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble. Later on, Ricochet defeated Top Dolla in a Royal Rumble qualifier match as well. As the biggest and most unique battle royale of the year inches closer, the fans can expect more such matches and big announcements from superstars.

Liv Morgan was consistently involved in the main event scene of the promotion in 2022. At the beginning of the year, she competed in the Elimination Chamber match to determine Becky Lynch’s opponent for the Raw women’s championship at WrestleMania. After being unsuccessful in the tag team division as well, she briefly feuded with Rhea Ripley in the spring.
Morgan would go on to compete in the 2022 Money in the Bank ladder match and win the briefcase. She cashed it in the same night and became the third woman to do so and the fourth overall. She defeated Ronda Rousey to win the SmackDown women’s championship for the first time. The two would go on to feud for a few months. Ultimately, Ronda regained her championship in the Extreme Rules match at the namesake event in October.
The former Riott Squad member has participated in every women’s Royal Rumble match since its inception in 2018. She has made her intentions known to win this year’s 30-women match by entering the match first, which is an uphill task but not impossible. Only three stars have won the match previously by starting the match from the number one position: Shawn Michaels (1995), Chris Benoit (2004), and Edge (2021). Liv Morgan could create history by becoming the first woman to achieve this feat at the January 28th event.
