Logal Paul scheduled for a major segment with WWE Hall of Famer this week on Friday Night SmackDown
A segment featuring Logan Paul and United States Champion Rey Mysterio is officially scheduled to tke place in the upcoming edition of SmackDown.

YouTuber-turned-wrestler Logan Paul picked up a massive victory in a grudge match against his long-time rival Dillon Danis last weekend at the AO Arena in Manchester. Following the match, The Maverick called out WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio to a championship match for his United States Title. The latter wasted no time in accepting Paul’s challenge.
WWE officially announced a segment between both superstars on social media platforms. The two will come face-to-face this week on SmackDown ahead of their potential title match. Moreover, Rey Mysterio also confirmed the said segment during his recent appearance at Ariel Helwani’s talk show.
Sitting with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, the former asked the legendary luchador if Logan Paul vs. Rey Mysterio is a “done deal.” Responding to Helwani, Mysterio, “I’m gonna see what he has to say on Friday, you know, we are going to have to tune in this Friday night on SmackDown because he called me out and I responded now we are gonna face each other.”
Confirming the segment, the United States Champion stated that he looks forward to seeing what The Maverick has in store. Earlier, there were reports emerging that the 28-year-old was not scheduled for Crown Jewel. However, the planned segment for the upcoming week of SmackDown says otherwise. Rey Mysterio will likely battle Logan Paul in the upcoming Saudi-based premium live event.
Rey Mysterio bestows high praise on Logan Paul
Although Logan Paul and Rey Mysterio will be on opposite ends of the squared circle during their presumed title match, that, however, didn’t prevent the latter from giving The Maverick his deserved flowers. Praising Logan Paul’s growth as a wrestler, Mysterio called the superstar a versatile performer.
Speaking on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Rey Mysterio said, “I see his growth and improvement, especially after having the match against Roman, and the last match, like he can adapt to any style, which is cr*zy, not a lot of guys can come into our world and can perform the way they perform like Logan and Bad Bunny in a way.”
The Hall of Famer discussed Logan Paul’s daring high-flying moves, citing his bouts with Ricochet in Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank. Describing Paul as a “risk-taker,” the 48-year-old hinted at a potential showdown with Paul.
