“Give him an edge,” AEW figure reveals how WWE could’ve prevented Seth Rollins from playing a second fiddle at WrestleMania XL presser

Last Thursday, WWE staged a WrestleMania XL press conference in Las Vegas. And for most, it was a home run. However, the fans had only one gripe. And that’s how Seth Rollins almost became a non-factor once Roman Reigns, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and Cody Rhodes got into the act. The incumbent AEW talent scout, Mark Henry, also came up a tad disappointed about how WWE put Rollins in a difficult position out there.
Mark voiced his reproval on the Busted Open Radio. Henry basically laid out the exact parlance The Visionary could’ve used. The 52-year-old said that Seth needed to iterate on how he was in the wrong place. That, for sure, would’ve made sense if Rollins yelled at Rock and Roman how he’s been a fighting champion, as opposed to The Tribal Chief’s paltry working schedule.
Then Henry disclosed what Seth needed to tell Cody. For the WWE HOF’er, things would’ve been better if The Architect hit back at Rhodes as well. The Sexual Chocolate was cognizant of Seth’s zeal to cajole Cody into a match with himself.
Give him an edge. Have him walk up and just say, ‘Listen. Obviously, I’m in the wrong place because I defend my title. I kick a** every week. Well, Cody, you actually are pretty damn good, that’s why I wanted to face you, but you chose people that don’t wrestle, so I bid you adieu.Mark Henry via Busted Open Radio (H/T: WrestlingInc)
So, according to Henry, the World Heavyweight Champion may have been a standout had he told Rhodes that although he respected him, Cody’s decision to go after a part-timer like Reigns didn’t move him. The Revolutionary re-emerged on the scene when Dwayne Johnson slapped Cody Rhodes. After that, all hell broke loose, and Triple H, alongside Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce, tried to restore serenity.
Seth Rollins had encouraging words for Cody Rhodes on Raw
This week on Raw, Seth Rollins bolstered his ties with Cody Rhodes even further. He assured Rhodes of having his back in the fracas he’s about to have with The Rock-backed Bloodline. Deep in his promo, Rollins admitted being a culprit, if any, in morphing Roman Reigns into the monster he has become.
The Drip God told Cody Rhodes that he needs to be ‘shielded’ by Seth against Reigns and his family. Fans in attendance were boisterous throughout the exchange between Rhodes and Rollins.
This Friday on SmackDown, Rock and Reigns are expected to confront Triple H based on the strong words he had last week. Though not confirmed, Cody could also make a surprise appearance to advance his story.
