The storyline between 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Bayley and Damage CTRL is one of the most interesting things going on. The tag team match was set after returning Dakota Kai decided to help The Role Model against the Kabuki Warriors. However, a major botch by the WWE official during the tag changed the whole complexion of the match.

On the latest episode of SmackDown, Bayley and Kai faced off against Asuka and Kairi Sane in a tag team match. During the match, the 34-year-old tried to Irish whip Asuka but instead collided with her partner. Technically, even though it was a tag, as the WWE official signaled, Kai was never tagged in, and the match went on.

This turned out to be very catastrophic for Bayley, as Kai ignored her attempt to tag her, thinking she hit her. Kai joined Damage CTRL and betrayed her best friend by brutally attacking her. It all started when Bayley decided to challenge Iyo Sky for the title at WrestleMania instead of Rhea Ripley.

Although fans expected Kai to turn on Bayley, knowing her history, as she heinously betrayed her friend Tegan Nox in NXT, the 34-year-old looked helpless against these attacks and is now all alone in her journey to win the title from Iyo. It will be interesting to see whether a certain someone returns to the Show of Shows to help Bayley fight off Damage CTRL or not.

Iyo Sky reacts after Dakota Kai betrays Bayley on SmackDown

On the latest episode of Smackdown, Dakota Kai turned on Bayley and brutally attacked her with Damage CTRL. However, it looks like WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky was not even a little bit surprised. She expressed exactly how she felt on social media.

Iyo took to X and said that she already knew Dakota would betray Bayley, implying that The Role Model is the problem, not her. She cashed in her Money In The Bank contract on Bianca Belair, became the champion at SummerSlam, and has since defended her title successfully every time.

I knew that.

The 33-year-old star will defend her WWE Women’s Title against Bayley at WrestleMania with the whole Damage CTRL behind her. It will be interesting to see whether it will be a one-sided match with the group helping Iyo or whether Bayley defies all the odds and becomes the new champion. Only time will tell what transpires at the Showcase of the Immortals.
