There have been several rumors concerning Vince McMahon reclaiming control of the creative division ever since it was rumored that he had rejoined the board of directors of WWE. Since Vince has his own set of methods for exercising creative control, it is something that has reportedly caused WWE superstars to express worries. This situation was addressed by AEW wrestler and legend Matt Hardy in his podcast “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” recently.
With Triple H brilliantly doing his job as a Chief Content Officer, wrestling fans have witnessed some of the best storylines and character developments in recent years. According to Hardy, if Vince McMahon had been in control, neither the Bloodline angle nor the Karrion Kross push would have been possible. With Vince in control, Matt Hardy feels that there will be a lack of creativity and he will try to suppress new ideas as he feels he is doing what is right for business!
There is no doubt that Vince McMahon has single-handedly taken WWE to the top during his prime, and each and every wrestling fan owes him one. But every legend should know when to take a step back and transfer the role to a responsible shoulder. Triple H is perfect for this role and has been doing this job flawlessly by bringing a lot of sophistication and creativity to take WWE to new heights.

Effects of Vince McMahon taking over the creative control

Under the regime of Triple H, many young talents and superstars were pushed, and many memorable storylines were created that were loved by wrestling fans around the world. Cody Rhodes was pushed to the top, Karrion Kross got his old gimmick back, Austin Theory was involved in major storylines with the likes of Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins, and the WWE Universe also witnessed the development of dominant factions.
If Vince takes control, all the current developments and storylines will start losing momentum. Karrion Kross might be forced to return to his Viking gimmick and perform in the middle of the card. The same goes for Matt Riddle after he returns from his injury. Vince is more inclined to push those superstars who have previously worked with him rather than pushing them on the basis of their popularity or skill sets.
In short, if Vince McMahon is in charge, all those superstars who were pushed during the tenure of Triple H may start getting sidelined or get involved in unnecessary storylines. Although the top superstars like Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, and many others may remain unaffected because they have their own creative control.
