Matt Riddle is on a high note after beating Seth Rollins at the Extreme Rules Premium Live Event. This seems to be the end of the rivalry between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle, as this Monday night on RAW Riddle proceeded to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship on RAW. Roman Reigns told Matt Riddle to be in the queue to face him, so Riddle challenged one of the members of the Bloodline, and Sami Zayn accepted his challenge. Matt Riddle defeated Zayn later that night.
After the match, Matt Riddle gave a backstage interview to Cathy Kelly, where he said that he is confident that one day he will get a Universal Championship opportunity, but tonight’s win against Sami Zayn was a sweet success. Meanwhile, Riddle’s former rival Seth Rollins fought Bobby Lashley and defeated him to become the WWE United States Champion for the second time in his career. This is the first singles championship that Rollins has won since 2019 and we can’t wait to see who would challenge him next as Lashley has begun a feud with Brock Lesnar now.
Matt Riddle speaks about the broton he delivered on Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules
The match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules was an average match, and the only thing that was great about it was the broton that Matt Riddle delivered on Seth Rollins from the top. The match was too slow and wasn’t ideal for a pro wrestling event and would have been great if the two had fought in a regular wrestling match instead of the Fight Pit.
During an interview with ESPN MMA’s DC&RC show, Matt Riddle spoke about the broton that he executed in the match. He said that he was already beat up as he had been buckle bombed and had gotten a pedigree from Seth while being on top. Riddle said that due to being beat up he didn’t want to climb down and so he executed the Broton on Seth. He said that he literally crushed Seth by jumping about 10 feet.
Matt Riddle also spoke about Daniel Cormier, who was the special guest referee at the event. He said that Cormier did a great job of being a referee but he feels that Cormier should also try his hand in wrestling rather than being just a referee for a match.
“You know, I think everybody performed well. I personally dig DC though, I think he did a great job refereeing. But I think he’s bigger and stronger and better than just refereeing, you know. I think DC should lace up some boots and step into the squared circle, that’s just my opinion,”
We don’t know what’s next for Matt Riddle, he may challenge Seth Rollins again, now that the latter is a US Champion.
