“Risk at their own peril”- Riddle challenges Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman responds

Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns

Recently, Matt Riddle publicly announced his aim to dethrone Roman Reigns in order to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. In response to his challenge, Paul Heyman issued a severe warning to him.

Previously this week, Riddle defeated The Miz quite dominantly. The 36-year old appeared on RAW Talk, where he said that he would put The Tribal Chief on notice in his quest for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. He also mentioned that he would be on SmackDown later during this week.

This statement regarding Reigns did not sit well with Paul Heyman. He took on Twitter to express his displeasure. Heyman directed a tweet at Riddle, where he said that Matt was risking having Roman Reigns personally deal with him. The former RAW Tag Team Champion, according to Heyman, would not fare well.

A record-breaking championship streak for Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is one of WWE's biggest stars and is currently reigning as the undisputed WWE Universal champion.
Roman as the WWE undisputed universal champion

Since unifying the WWE and Universal Championships at WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns has not yet appeared in a title-defending match. However, it is speculated that Riddle might be his next opponent at next month’s Money in the Bank.

This Sunday would mark Reigns’ possession of the Universal Championship title for 650 days in a row. Roman now has been a title holder for over 700 days combined. While doing so, he has already surpassed Brock Lesnar’s record of holding the title for 688 days across Lesnar’s three reigns with the crown. After facing Riddle at Money in the Bank, Reigns is all set to face Randy Orton at SummerSlam in July, followed by Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle in September.
