Not only has Randy Orton won more than a baker’s dozen world titles in WWE, but he has maintained quite a healthy relationship with Vince McMahon as well. Fans must have read multiple stories over the years about Orton’s tuning with the ex-chairman of WWE. However, to corroborate those pieces, former WWE Superstar Maven recently made a revelation.

In his latest YouTube video, the 3-time Hardcore Champion reacted to CM Punk‘s first interview since walking out of WWE in January 2014. In that tell-all clip from Mr. Punk, he openly listed the reasons that drove him away from the company. Moreover, Punk also emphasized himself and John Cena as two names who never hesitated to discuss their issues with Vince McMahon. The Best in the World also put Randy Orton among that slim array of superstars.

Maven, who was listening closely up to that point, paused to reveal what Randy was like with Vince. Since Maven and Orton were co-workers from 2001 to 2005, much before Punk even debuted in WWE, he had better insight. Maven said that Orton did talk it out in person with McMahon whenever he thought something was amiss.

Randy would definitely do it. I've watched it. He was doing it back years before Punk was even in the WWE. So there were other guys. Other guys wouldn't do it. Not because they didn't have the b*lls to do it. It's because they weren't on Vince's plane. They weren't on Vince's orbit.

Moreover, he also said most of the other guys weren’t able to do so, and it had nothing to do with their courage. Others couldn’t have a private conversation with Vince McMahon just because they weren’t in the same orbit as Randy was with McMahon, said Maven. An instance from 2019 certainly aligns with it. The Viper went to McMahon and told him that he wanted to work with then-Revival, leading to an on-screen trio that was known as FT-RKO.

Is Randy Orton on the brink of history this weekend?

Randy Orton has a rare opportunity this weekend. He could become a 15-time World Champion at the Royal Rumble. For that to happen, he would have to pip Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, and LA Knight in a fatal 4-way match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

He gained some much-needed momentum last week on SmackDown. The Apex Predator RKOed all of his counterparts, including a mid-air RKO by The Viper. Out of LA Knight, AJ Styles, and himself, Randy would back himself as the most fancied man to oust Roman Reigns.

After being put on the shelf for 18 months, The Legend Killer has been gunning for revenge. And what better way to get his own back than to strike midnight on The Tribal Chief’s title reign?
