Michael Cole is one of the most loved and experienced commentators in WWE. After more than 25 years of bonding with WWE, Cole has witnessed some of the most iconic moments in the history of the company. During a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Michael stated the greatest moment he has ever called for is the “Heist of the Century” back at WrestleMania 31.
Cole had a tough time answering McAfee’s question on his podcast, and Michael took a look back at his past of numerous years. But after minutes of contemplation, he took out a page from his experience to state the greatest moment. As he initially stated, Roman Reigns has been a part of many incredible moments in recent times, which he remembers. But in the end, he crowned Seth Rollins‘ Money in the Bank cash-in on Brock Lesnar and Reigns to be his favorite moment.
Cole then further elaborated on Rollins’ cash-in being his favorite moment, but the favorite matchup differed. Michael stated, “Box office-wise, probably Rock-Cena at WrestleMania!” being one of the biggest stories that have ever happened. Michael then specified that the match was ‘Once in a Lifetime’ bout and not the title match at next year’s edition of WrestleMania. He stated that the feeling of calling out the bout had a different pleasure.
Michael Cole currently works on SmackDown as the ringside commentator alongside Wade Barrett. McAfee has been his partner at regular intervals in the last year. While the commentating reigns on RAW have been taken over by Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves. While the premium live events keep a reserved spot for Cole and switch his partner between either Graves or Barrett.
Michael Cole opines on Dominik Mysterio’s hatred has worked out massively
During his recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Michael Cole was asked about why Dominik Mysterio’s heel turn worked out. To respond to it, Cole went into its depth and stated how his storyline with his father works and feels relatable to the massive audience. He implied that every parent feels a certain way about that story.
Cole stated the contrast of thoughts between the child and his parents growing up with them. As a parent who has raised teenagers and nearly adult children, he related to the storyline in terms of Rey Mysterio. While the youngsters relate to Dominik and feel that they know best for themselves despite their parents’ thinking.
Dominik’s heel turn came at the Clash of the Castle event in Cardiff, Wales. When Rey teamed up with Edge to take on The Judgment Day and defeated the heel faction for their victory. And that’s when Dominik betrayed The Rated-R Superstar and his father Rey to join The Judgment Day and become the ultimate heel.
