The Hardcore Legend Mick Foley is one of the WWE’s icons who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame class of 2013 during WrestleMania 29 weekend. Along with other legendary inductees, Donald Trump also made his way into the Hall of Fame as a celebrity inductee. Trump’s induction affected Foley’s whole speech, as it eventually got edited off during the broadcast three days later of the ceremony.
Speaking on the “Foley is Pod” show, Mick Foley spoke about his Hall of Fame induction in 2013. The WWE legend said that he had heard from the officials that a major part of his speech would be cut off to show Donald’s whole speech. The Hardcore Legend then thought that his speech should have only been “Hey, thank you!” and walked away from the stage while throwing off his Hall of Fame ring. But then he avoided these thoughts and remembered a promise that he made to himself.
Foley recalled the time when he was in Impact Wrestling and got a text message from WWE. The Stamford-based promotion asked for Mick’s permission to promote his book on their shows, as ordered by Vince McMahon. His book, Hardcore Diaries, also had mentions of him joining Impact (then TNA).
At that instance, Foley made a promise that if he were asked anytime to get inducted into the Hall of Fame, he would definitely agree to it. Mick said, “I’m not going to say I need X amount of time.” Twitter then witnessed the outburst of Foley’s rage as he wrote how he felt after getting his speech cut-off.
But then he approached Vince’s office and saw Stephanie McMahon, Triple H and Kevin Dunn present there. Dunn then asked Foley about the outburst and stated that he should’ve come to them to discuss it. The Hardcore Legend then realized that should have been the right way to sort things out rather than complaining about them publicly.

Mick Foley did not think of his iconic Hell in a Cell match was a big deal
On a recent episode of his podcast, Mick Foley spoke about his iconic Hell in a Cell match with The Undertaker. Having portrayed the character of Mankind, he went all out, getting bruised. Whether it was getting bumped into thumbtacks or being thrown off the cell, he did not think of it as a big deal.
Foley felt that the Mankind character was flat and was not getting the response he wanted it to. He never thought that the aftermath would result in a legendary match, and he is glad that he was proven wrong. He still stated that it was not an immediate aftermath; hence, he felt less bothered by the match.
Mick’s other famous gimmicks included Cactus Jack and Dude Love along with his original persona of Mick Foley. He has also wrestled in various promotions like the WCW, ECW, and TNA (Impact). Foley got inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame class of 2013 with other wrestling legends.
