“That’s one match we never got,” Mickie James comments on possibly facing former 5-time WWE Women’s Champion

Mickie James has opined about what's next for her after she's the newly crowned Impact Knockouts Champion. As a matter of fact, she'd love to cross barriers and find rivals in other promotions too, including NJPW and AEW.

Mickie James is on cloud nine at the moment. After saving her career, and in turn capturing the Impact Knockouts Championship at Hard to Kill, she’s ready for the future. As known, the 43-year old is counted amongst one of the all-time female greats, this industry has to offer. Also, she’s well-known for having an epic rivalry with Trish Stratus in WWE.

In a fan-turned-stalker gimmick, Mickie became obsessed with The Canadian legend. At WrestleMania 22, James defeated Stratus for the Women’s Championship. Outside of this, Mickie James resonates very well with Impact Wrestling. What many call it a career-altering event, she received an offer to join then-TNA promotion in 2010.

Fast forward over a decade, she’s their World Champion once again. Now, the Virginia native isn’t limiting herself within the restricted confines of Impact Wrestling. Instead, while speaking on Busted Open Radio, Nick Aldis’ wife iterated that she really wants to face Mercedes Mone aka Sasha Banks. Fans never got to witness this dream match despite being in discussions, at one point. Also, pushing it further, she expressed her desire to visit a never-seen before territory in AEW, to possibly face Britt Baker or maybe Jamie Hayter.

“You talk about that match with Sasha [Mercedes Mone], that’s one match we never got at WWE. We never had a singles match and it’s one thing we always wanted. With her at Stardom and New Japan, that opportunity to have that singles match would be incredible. To go against someone at AEW, that’s a door I’ve never walked through before. Britt Baker or Jamie Hayter, she’s the champion, I love her.”

If some previous reports are meant to trust, Mickie James might shock everyone at the Royal Rumble. Like 2022, The Alamodome in San Antonio better gear itself to rock on that Hardcore Country music. And once again, she’ll enter as the Impact Knockouts Champion.

Also, her husband, Nick Aldis is too believed to follow James. As per Xero News’ Patreon post, both these names are listed internally as surprise entrants in their respective Rumble matches. Where on one hand, Mickie can measure the likes of Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, her hubby Nick Aldis, has plenty to face too.
