Cody Rhodes is almost ready to go. After suffering a torn pectoral muscle last year, The American Nightmare had to undergo a surgery. Fortunately, that was a success and everything went well. It’s almost inevitable that Cody’s back real soon. Owing to that, WWE has been airing some hype video packages for Rhodes in recent weeks.

Pretty much evident, the promotion is doing a multi-part series, leading to his eventual return. In them, fans get to witness behind-the-scenes journey of Rhodes’ entire injury period, from surgery to rehab and then from rehab to back at training, again. So far, the story has reached to a point where Cody has healed up the damage and gets back to The Nightmare Factory to regain the shape.

Tonight’s broadcast of Monday Night Raw will likely feature the third part of the series. As one would think, the endgame for these video packages can be Cody Rhodes possibly announcing that he’s fully recovered and will enter the Royal Rumble match. This might be the likeliest scenario WWE can head with.

Now, many fans have been wondering about who’s behind these beautiful hype videos. Well, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, Jeremy Borash is responsible for handling them. For the unversed, Borash previously worked for Impact Wrestling.

At first, Cody Rhodes is the current favorite to win this year’s 30-Man Royal Rumble match. This victory will enable him to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Mania. But, here’s a twist. According to Xero News, there has been some chatters to strip the WWE Title off Reigns, well before WrestleMania.

This move can resolve various problems. The biggest positive would be the separation of those World Titles, which are currently tied around The Tribal Chief’s waist. WWE can then card two marquee World Championship matches on separate nights of WrestleMania in Los Angeles.

As a result of which, Cody Rhodes will face Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship. And, in a Mother of all Dream Battles, Roman Reigns can finally get to wrestle his cousin, The Rock, for the Universal Championship. As per the current plan, the idea to jettison one of those World Titles off Reigns will lead to WWE holding a tournament to crown the new WWE Champion. In the main-event of WrestleMania night 1, world will welcome a brand new champ.
