WWE has genuinely expanded their market across the globe. They saw the potential in the middle-east as one of their biggest business centres and signed a 10-year deal with them. The promotion usually delivers a couple of shows in Saudi Arabia each year, as part of the agreement.

So far, we’ve witnessed a ton of magical and buzzing moments from these shows. One of the main attraction of these mini-Wrestlemania events centres around having several “money-matches”. WWE did a successful premium live event last month at the Mrsool Park in Riyadh. ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns executed a spirited title defense against Logan Paul to close the night.

Apart from the staggering amount of financial gains for the Stamford-based promotion from these Saudi shows, they’ve deeply amassed controversy. Few years ago, a journalist named Jamal Khassogi was mysteriously assassinated before a WWE event in Riyadh.

Furthermore, we’ll are well-aware of the freedom rights to women in these Gulf nations. Although, WWE have managed to introduce female wrestling on their shows, the superstars are supposed to strictly cover their entire body. Also, Sami Zayn, the honorary Uce, is permanently banned from attending these shows due to Saudi Arabia’s strained relations with Syria.

WWE often gets accused of drawing blood money from these shows and nothing more. Barring few actually great moments in terms of storyline perspective, the creative gets called out for booking random stuff for these kind of shows.
