Nick Aldis has garnered a lot of attention in the past few days as the general manager of SmackDown. He has made some difficult decisions that haven’t sat well with some of the top superstars. One of them was the announcement of the Fatal 4-way match for the Undisputed WWE Universal title at the Royal Rumble.

Aldis was asked about setting the strong tone against Roman Reigns and the Bloodline on WWE’s The Bump. He revealed that a general manager has to deal with many different types of egos in the locker room. The SmackDown GM further added although Roman is one of the greatest superstars of this generation, the rules will not be bent for him.

Furious with this action from Reigns and his Bloodline members during the main event of Smackdown, Aldis announced a Fatal 4-way match for his title at Royal Rumble. Speaking of this decision he said:

Well, management in WWE is all about sending a message and setting the tone and you're managing a lot of egos, but your number one priority has to be the WWE Universe. While Roman is a generational talent and one of the pillars of WWE, he's just a man.

After the show, the Tribal Chief showed an extreme amount of anger when Paul Heyman told him the news. His anger was justified as he didn’t even have to be pinned to lose the match and his title. It will be interesting to see what will Roman’s response be on the next week’s episode of SmackDown.

Nick Aldis rejected the appeal of Zelina Vega to get a title opportunity

It looks like WWE superstar Zelina Vega has to do more hard work to get the title opportunity. SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis said although she is doing well, she has to climb up the ranks.

Aldis was answering the questions asked on X and one of those questions was from Zelina. Aldis gave a witty reply and said she had to prove to him that she was capable of earning the title shot. he further added she certainly has the potential to prove him wrong and he will surely think about it.

Zelina's doing very well. Look, the competition at the top level... the air is thin, the higher up you get and so I think Zelina's going to have to prove it to me and the WWE Universe that she's worthy of a title shot. But it certainly it's not something I am against if she can earn it the right way.

The First Lady of L.W.O. has a lot of accomplishments under her belt as she was the winner of the Queen’s Crown tournament. She was also a one-time Women’s Tag team Champion with Carmella. It will be interesting to see how she responds to Aldis’ comment on her.
