Paul Heyman finally acknowledges CM Punk for the first time since his return, explains why he is with Roman Reigns now

This week’s SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution was filled with several interesting segments. One of which saw The Wiseman, Paul Heyman, in a backstage promo where he addressed speculations around Roman Reigns. It was during his statement that he happened to remember the Best in the World and decided to share his opinions about him.
Quoting CM Punk, Heyman extended a warm welcome and explained how he has upgraded himself from an advocate to a special counsel. He acknowledged Punk as the original ‘Paul Heyman Guy’. However, he remained persistent, understanding that no one at this point can defeat The Head of the Table.

For those who don’t know, CM Punk has already name-dropped Paul Heyman on multiple occasions. However, this was the first time Paul responded to him. On the other hand, this whole segment was centered around The Rock calling out Roman Reigns.
Heyman, maintaining his demeanor, decided to call out The Great One. Paul E. claimed that Rocky was another attention-seeking individual who would not be invited to the dinner of relevancy.

Roman Reigns made an appearance on the first SmackDown of 2024. It was needed in the context of eyeing his potential challenger for the Royal Rumble 2024. Ahead of this SmackDown, Heyman decided to stir the pot of hype as he promoted The Bloodline leader’s merchandise on Instagram.
The latest merchandise by Reigns reads “Levels Above” signifying his larger-than-life stature at the moment. Moreover, Heyman went generous by also promoting the merchandise of Solo Sikoa. It seems like Jimmy Uso, just like Roman Reigns’ announcement of the next Chief-in-line, got left out here as well. All in all, Heyman exuded excitement before the show was to start.
The main event witnessed a thrilling triple-threat match between AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and LA Knight. The ending generated mixed emotions for the fans. The reason was the interference by Roman Reigns that ended the contest. However, got the fans seemingly a much more exciting fatal 4-way match at Royal Rumble 2024.
