UPDATE: Potential plans for Sasha Banks and Naomi after their reported WWE return possibly revealed
Sasha Banks and Naomi in WWE
It’s been three months now since Sasha Banks and Naomi have walked out of the WWE. Both wrestlers had walked out due to creative differences with the then CEO and Chairman of the company Vince McMahon. With Vince McMahon now retired, Sasha Banks and Naomi are expected to return to the company and it is said that the new Creative head Triple H also wants them back in the company. Banks and Naomi were a part of the team B.A.D from 2015 to 2016 and had reunited this year as a tag team.
Sasha Banks and Naomi had won the tag titles at the WrestleMania 38 in a fatal four-way Tag team match on night 2 of the event. Thereafter they had defended their titles on several live shows and at the main rosters before the walkout. Both Sasha Banks and Naomi were prominent WWE Superstars of the company, both being women’s champions in the past. This was Sasha Banks’ third reign as a tag team champion and Naomi’s first reign.
Sasha Banks and Naomi might compete for the Tag Team Championship
Recently, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Newsletter Observer had reported that the contract hadn’t been signed but both parties were expecting it to happen and that they are all on the same page. Meltzer said that he was told that its almost done but the two wrestlers haven’t signed it yet and they may have signed it yet, but the time of return of both wrestlers is uncertain. Triple H doesn’t want to unveil all of his cards at once, according to Meltzer, and until the following couple of weeks, we would have a significant topic to discuss each week. In addition, Meltzer mentioned that a main agreement had been made more than a week before.
According to a recent report by Dave Meltzer, Sasha Banks and Naomi might not compete in the tournament, but their status will be a surprise when it is about to be revealed. The Tag Team Tournament finals will also not take place at a Pay Per View.
“On the Smackdown side they’ve announced Raquel & Aliyah vs. Shotzi & Xia Li and Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark of NXT vs. Natalya & Deville. Sky & Kai are the favorites. If they make the finals, it presumably won’t be on PPV since they already announced Sky & Kai for a trios match on 9/3. This being announced right as Naomi & Sasha Banks are expected back is probably not a coincidence and I guess the idea is for them not to be in the tournament and have them surprise appear later.”
Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah vs. Shotzi & Xia Li and Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark vs. Natalya & Deville are matches to be happening on SmackDown brand. Sky & Kai have qualified for the Semi finals this week. The next week Alexa Bliss and Asuka will face Nikki A.S.H and Doudrop.
