Ever since guiding his team to a satisfying triumph inside WarGames, Randy Orton has made it clear that he’s got receipts for each and every member of The Bloodline. Tonight’s historic edition of Friday Night SmackDown will play host to The Viper’s first tag team match in nearly a year and a half. Having said that, the 14-time World Champion has been announced to team up with LA Knight.

The duo of Orton and Knight will take on Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. The match stems from what transpired on last week’s SmackDown. The show witnessed Randy Orton ditching Adam Pearce‘s offer to join Raw. In the process, he signed an exclusive deal to become a permanent member of the blue brand. However, it wasn’t easy sailing for The Apex Predator, as he had to fight through The Bloodline.

After the relegation to a 2-on-1 disadvantage by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso, Randy Orton received the backing of a certain megastar. That’s right, as LA Knight emerged to even the odds for the WWE legend. When Knight evicted Sikoa from the ring, Jimmy was left crumbling near a coiled Viper. As soon as Uso got back to his feet, Randy delivered a wicked RKO to the former one-half of The Usos.

It wasn’t enough for Orton, as he asked Paul Heyman to let Roman Reigns know that Daddy’s back. The Wiseman looked like he saw a ghost and directed his phone’s AI to give a ring to The Tribal Chief. As already announced by WWE, Reigns is scheduled to return to SmackDown next week in Wisconsin. But before that, he would like Solo and Jimmy to soften up The Viper as much as they possibly can.

WWE seemingly has big plans for Randy Orton on SmackDown

Though it’s still a long way to go till the Royal Rumble, early indications suggest that Randy Orton might be the one to challenge Roman Reigns for the gold at the namesake event.

Throughout his record-setting title reign, The Head of the Table never faced The Legend Killer in a one-on-one setup. The closest they ever got to each other was in a 6-man tag team match at last year’s Backlash PLE.

Moreover, Orton and Reigns have only crossed paths once at a premium live event, and that was way back at SummerSlam in 2014. Next month, in January, WWE has a perfect opportunity to card a fresh opponent for Roman Reigns. Someone like Randy Orton, who’s mighty over with the fans, would be the apt choice.
