Five female superstars will compete in a fatal five-way ladder match for the NXT Women’s Championship. However, four participants have already earned their spots in the match. The reports suggest that Roxanne Perez will be the fifth superstar to fill the vacant spot for the ladder match.
Roxanne Perez was the former NXT Women’s Champion for the yellow brand. The 22-year-old was on a sublime reign until an unforeseen incident transpired during the Roadblock. Perez collapsed after her match with Meiko Satomura and was stretchered away from the ring. As a result, WWE had to vacate the NXT Women’s Championship. Owing to this, Shawn Michaels held multiple number-one contender matches in the yellow brand ahead of NXT Stand and Deliver.
The winner of those matches earned a shot at the NXT Women’s Title in a fatal five-way ladder match. Gigi Dolin, Lyra Valkyria, Zoey Stark, and Tiffanny Stratton are the four superstars that have already solidified their spots. On the other hand, one superstar has yet to fill the vacant spot in the multi-person ladder match. According to Zero News, WWE is looking to put Roxanne Perez in the last remaining spot. The report stated that the former NXT Women’s Champion would be a last-minute addition to the match.
Moreover, in a tweet, Perez told the fans that she was very frustrated and will be back stronger. The 22-year-old left an air of ambivalence when she said she was clueless about when she could return to the roster. On the other hand, PW Insider reported that Roxanne Perez will be a part of NXT’s upcoming PLE. Therefore, the situation looks very abstruse, and the fans are oblivious to what to expect.
Contrary to the reports, WWE announced a match between Indi Hartwell, Sol Ruca, and Ivy Nile next week on NXT. The winner of the match will punch her ticket for the remaining spot in the ladder match. Therefore, the current situation looks obscure as of now. The former NXT Women’s Champion collapsed after her match at NXT Roadblock. However, many fans claimed it to be legitimate, while some believed it was part of some storyline. According to Wrestling Observer Dave Meltzer, the collapse of Perez was a “cover story” for an ambiguous situation. Meltzer said that WWE pulled off such an angle because the real-life situation with her is vague.
“She didn’t faint after the match, that was a cover story for the fact that something may or may not be going on, and they don’t know exactly,” he said. Therefore, the situation with Perez looks very obscure as of now. The company is in a state of uncertainty with the real-life situations going on.
