The Rock is scheduled to start filming his next movie after WrestleMania 40.

Going into WrestleMania 40, The Rock is more of a highlight than the main event bout. The Final Boss has changed the flow of things, resulting in some exciting stuff on the Road to WrestleMania. Plus, the main action still awaits at the Shows of Shows, where Rocky will hit the squared circle after 8 years. However, after these two nights of extravaganza, a report by ESPN claims that Rock will begin his acting ventures.
A feature article by ESPN discloses the role of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in WrestleMania 40. In that piece, it was mentioned that Johnson is playing the role of MMA legend Mark Kerr in his biopic, The Smashing Machine. It was stated that he would jump right into filming that movie after WrestleMania. This fact takes Rocky away from WWE and would seemingly end his short run leading up to Mania.
It is also noted that this wrestling run has, in some ways, been an MMA training camp for his filming. His workouts have been done while keeping an eye on his physical appearance. This would take him away from the decisions of the TKO Board, though, as his business mind would always strive for the best. The next part of the article states that a rehearsal for the Biggest Tag Team Match in WWE history was done on Raw in Brooklyn this week. The next rehearsal is set to happen in Philadelphia on April 4.
He’s also working out with an eye toward his next movie role: MMA legend Mark Kerr in the upcoming “The Smashing Machine” biopic. Johnson will jump right into making that film after WrestleMania, so in some ways it truly is an MMA training camp.ESPN’s article about Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson
The path to WrestleMania 40 now only has one stop on Friday Night SmackDown. It is expected that The Great One will show up with The Bloodline for a final face-off against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. It will be in the next 24 hours that Roman Reigns and Rock will look to lay the ‘smackdown’ on the babyface duo in the Night 1 main event of WrestleMania 40, only to make Rhodes’ story finish even harder.
WWE Universe remorses over the end of The Rock’s small run
One can easily doubt that the Road to WrestleMania 40 would have been this exciting without The Rock. The Final Boss coming to replace Cody Rhodes and take away his main event spot was disheartening. However, the day and age of social media gave Rhodes the chance to get back to his desired goal.
ESPN’s report states that Rocky would continue his Hollywood venture and bid adieu to WWE after Mania. And now this is something disturbing for the WWE Universe, as they are willing to see more of him. Some of the reactions on the news are celebrating his two-month run and feeling for it.
The last time The Brahma Bull had a pre-planned match was nearly 11 years ago, when he wrestled John Cena. The ‘twice in a lifetime’ bout at WrestleMania 29 even marked his last championship match. Three years later, he competed in an impromptu squash match against Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32.
