In August 2020, Rey Mysterio returned to WWE after a year-long hiatus and continues to be an active competitor in the ring. His career in WWE is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and love for the business. Throughout his WWE career, Rey has inspired countless young fans and shown that size doesn’t matter when it comes to achieving your dreams. Rey will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
Recently, a video has gone viral on social media showing Rey Mysterio denying an autograph request from a fan. The former world champion is seen telling them that he cannot sign merchandise without WWE’s permission. The people in the video asking for autographs had taped the merchandise to a cardboard. This indicates the intention of fans to use Rey’s autograph to make money by selling it online.
The fact of the matter is, wrestlers have a life outside the squared circle as well. And they deserve respect for what they go through in the ring week-in and week-out. They put their bodies in danger every time they step up for the sake of the fans’ entertainment. However, wrestlers should not be obligated to comply with the fan’s request whenever they meet them in person.
Coming back to the video, Mysterio accepted the request of one fan and signed an autograph for him. However, he didn’t entertain the requests of people who wanted to make money off of that autograph. You can watch the viral clip here.

Rey Mysterio is rumored to take on his son at WrestleMania 39

Ever since Rey made his WWE return, he has continued to put over young talent and help the future of WWE. He also introduced his son, Dominik Mysterio, to the in-ring competition. Rey and Dominick became the first-ever father-son duo to win the tag team titles in WWE history in 2021. Until their feud with The Judgment Day, they were a loving father-son team.
Last year at “Clash at the Castle,” Dominik shocked everyone by betraying his own father, Rey. The moment took place after Rey and Edge defeated The Judgment Day in a tag team match. Ever since that night, the father-son feud is still going on and is rumored to end at WrestleMania 39. To keep the story going until WrestleMania, Rey was separated from his son on Raw and transferred to SmackDown on his own accord.
Recently, the story had a lot of twists and turns, with Dom going to prison for invading Rey’s home and much more. However, it is clearly indicated that the story is leading up to a match at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
