Rey Mysterio has established himself amongst the most successful wrestlers that ever existed in the company’s history. He has recently completed his 20 years with the company and celebrated the day along with his family with great pomp and excitement. Rey Mysterio did not have a physique like one of those hefty men in the company. No one ever thought that this guy can make up to the level he is presently at.
Rey has played many legendary matches in his career. He has been involved with possibly all the wrestlers who were or are currently associated with the company. He is often remembered for the skill and agility he has shown on the ring. The way he is up on the ring is quite unique and different from the mainstream of players.

Rey Mysterio follows the lucha libre tradition
Rey Mysterio was in an interview where he talked of his match with CM Punk. It was 2010 when Mysterio shaved Punk’s hair in the ring. He confessed that he still has the hair of CM Punk. Rey explained that keeping the hair was a tradition followed in lucha libre.
There are certain matches that are known as mask vs mask match. The winner of the match gets to keep the mask of the defeated player as a symbol of proving his victory just like any trophy. The second type of match is hair vs hair or mask vs hair. In this match, the winner keeps the hair as the symbol of his win over his opponent. This is exactly what he did with CM Punk.
“I learned this from my uncle just from growing up in lucha libre. My uncle would collect the hair of his opponent, and put it in a little baggie, date it, put the name of the opponent, where it was at, and it’s kind of a souvenir trophy. It’s in one of my photo albums,” said Rey Mysterio. Nevertheless, he has complete respect for the former WWE Champion CM Punk even today.
