“I took care of business tonight”-Rey Mysterio is confident in winning the intercontinental Championship against Gunther

Rey Mysterio has finally been relieved of the tormenting from his son Dominik that he used to receive each day on RAW after Dom became a Judgment Day member. Dominik Mysterio had been provoking Rey to hit him, and since Dom is his beloved son, he couldn’t hit him or didn’t have the audacity to have a match against or hit his son. Dominik even performed a 619 on Rey Mysterio on the October 10 edition of RAW.

Thereafter, Rey Mysterio appeared on the October 14^th edition of RAW, where he told Triple H that he was quitting WWE as he can’t bear the misery from his son anymore. The Game told Rey Mysterio to calm down and invited him to his cabin for a chat and a possible solution.

As Karrion Kross had been injured by Drew McIntyre earlier that night, he was ruled out of competing in the number one contender’s match for the intercontinental championship that night. Kross was replaced by Rey Mysterio, and Mysterio went on to win the match, where he defeated Ricochet, Solo Sikoa, and Sheamus to win the match.

Mysterio is set to fight Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship on the November 4^th episode of SmackDown. The episode will be recorded before November 4th, most probably between the October 28^th edition of SmackDown and November 4^th.

This week on SmackDown, Rey Mysterio defeated Imperium member Ludwig Kaiser in a singles match, and after the show, he appeared on SmackDown Lowdown, where he said that he plans on becoming the Intercontinental Champion.

 “As of right now, I’m good. I took care of business tonight against Ludwig and in two weeks, Gunther’s gonna step up. I do plan on becoming Intercontinental Champion.”

Shawn Michaels praises Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero

In 1997, Rey Mysterio was involved in a rivalry with Eddie Guerrero, and the feud set the stage for the two of them to have a match at the WCW Halloween Havoc. The match was a mask vs. title match for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. The match was won by Mysterio and is regarded as one of the best matches of Mysterio and Guerrero’s careers.

In a recent conversation with Kevin Kellam, Shawn Michaels recounted the bout. He claimed that it would be challenging to top the Guerrero and Mysterio battle from the 1997 Halloween Havoc. If you were to ask Rey about being inspirational, he would be shocked by the fact, and according to Michaels, Rey and Eddie have influenced many superstars.
