WWE could add massive Rhea Ripley match to SummerSlam hours before the show
Keeping someone as indomitable as Rhea Ripley off SummerSlam would be a blunder from WWE and they are reconsidering their decisions.

For sure, there’s no one on Rhea Ripley’s level right now. However, she’s having one of the most forgettable title reigns in recent memory. Since capturing the gold at WrestleMania, she has barely defended the strap. The creative bankruptcy has led to the situation where The Eradicator is without an opponent at SummerSlam. Fans are disgruntled over WWE’s decision not to book a marquee bout for their dominant Women’s Champion in Detroit.
That said, the higher-ups still have time to make it right. In recent weeks, Rhea Ripley has been beefing with Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan, the former in particular. With Morgan out due to an injury, Raquel tried to avenge some damage this week. She brawled with The Eradicator and surprisingly had the upper hand until Dominik Mysterio distracted her. As a result, Ripley annihilated the Texas homegirl and left her in pain.
At some point, Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez will battle for the Women’s World Title. However, that could very well happen at SummerSlam. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, if needed, WWE would clear Rodriguez, obviously in kayfabe, to let her compete against the Judgment Day’s female member. For that, they might do an angle where the supposed match wouldn’t need to go for long.
And that’s the exact concern for WWE. They do not want the event to go past 4 hours at most. With eight matches already stacked on the card, there’s just no room left for more. However, a match between a fully charged-up Rhea Ripley and a partially injured Raquel Rodriguez doesn’t have to clock 15 minutes. If that’s what they’re thinking, fans may end up witnessing this showdown transpire at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
Rhea Ripley is seemingly upset with the booking of WWE’s women’s
Just like previously, WWE has not been able to skyrocket its women’s division. Due to that, several talents are voicing their dissatisfaction with the matter. Recently, the company took Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus’ grudge match off SummerSlam. The time constraint is the only reported reason given by the reps. There was a looming fear that if the said match was still on for Detroit, it would’ve suffered ‘major time cuts.’
Since then, backstage frustrations have continuously grown within the company. Rhea Ripley, too, seems upset over what’s happening at the moment. She liked a tweet that highlighted the sensitive state of the women’s division in WWE. And of course, WWE has yet to give a meaningful feud to Ripley since crowning her as their Women’s World Champion. No doubt she’s doing great with her Judgment Day buddies and NXT crossovers, however, her title reign has been nothing.
She could only hope to get featured on this weekend’s SummerSlam card. The fact that WWE has failed to create a babyface equivalent enough to tackle the top villain Ripley, is baffling. That’s something fans haven’t seen much under the Triple H era. Hopefully, the creative mess will be cleared soon, and females will get equal opportunities as men in the forthcoming months.
