Rhea Ripley tops PWI list (via WWE)
Rhea Ripley rose to superstardom after aligning with The Judgment Day in the summer of 2022. Over the course of a year, she has slowly established herself as a juggernaut in all of WWE. That being said, the Women’s World Champion has added another feature to her cap. Rhea Ripley has topped the elite list of PWI 250 Women’s Wrestlers 2023.
This Wednesday, Pro Wrestling Illustrated released the list of the best women’s wrestlers in the world. Only two female superstars from WWE made it to the top ten. However, it was The Eradicator who clinched the top position in the prestigious annual list. With this milestone, the Women’s World Champion continues to raise her stock in WWE.
The 27-year-old has claimed the number one spot by eclipsing the likes of Giulia, Bianca Belair, Jamie Hayter, Athena, Willow Nightingale etc. It is noteworthy that Bianca Belair is the only female superstar from WWE beside Rhea Ripley, who landed a spot in the top ten list.
It goes without saying that Rhea Ripley is arguably the face of the women’s division in 2023. The young superstar’s ascension to the top began with this year’s Royal Rumble. She defeated Charlotte Flair to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39. Furthermore, Ripley has been the reigning champion of the red brand for over 200 days now.

Without any second thought, 2023 can be described as the year of Rhea Ripley. However, she is not the only superstar who tasted success this year. Another superstar who rose to the top of the mountain is Iyo Sky. The Genius of the Sky received her first singles push on the main roster. That being said, Ripley recently sent a heartfelt message to the WWE Women’s Champion.

Commemorating its five years, a fan on X recently shared a clip of Iyo Sky vs. Rhea Ripley from the Mae Young Classic Semi Finals. The former defeated Ripley in the bout to advance to the finals in 2018. Retweeting the same clip, The Eradicator wrote “And now we’re both Champions @Iyo_SkyWWE.”
The 27-year-old superstar recalled the match from five years ago while acknowledging their success on the main roster. Rhea Ripley became the Women’s World Champion at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Meanwhile, Iyo Sky cashed in her Money in the Bank on Bianca Belair to claim the Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.
