“You’re not from this PLANET”- WWE Hall of Famer reveals that he was approached by Ric Flair to be in his last match

Ric Flair commentating

Ric Flair has had an illustrious career as a wrestler and has wrestled for almost 50 years. Ric is undoubtedly the greatest wrestler of all time and his in-ring ability and mic skills are unrivaled. Flair had announced his retirement from wrestling in 2008 and wrestled his final match in the WWE against Shawn Michaels. He wasn’t done with wrestling thereafter and joined TNA, wherein he wrestled until 2012 and announced his second retirement the same year. Ric Flair then joined WWE as a manager to his daughter Charlotte and left it in 2021.

This year, Ric Flair shocked everyone by announcing that he wasn’t done with wrestling and announced in May that he would compete in a match in July of this year. The match was revealed to be a tag match with Ric’s son in law Andrade as his partner and the opponents were WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarret and Jay Lethal. Many were concerned about Ric Flair as he had just gotten out of Death bed last year, with his daughter Charlotte banning him from doing certain moves. The match was brutal due to Flair making himself bleed as he had planned. Ric Flair and Andrade won the match and Flair greeted everyone at the ringside.

Ric Flair’s last match was attended by wrestling legends such as Mic Foley, Bret Hart and the Undertaker. Flair recently appeared on To be the Man Podcast and spoke about his last match. Flair said that he wished he hadn’t said it was his last match and said that this comment is going to get heat from many.

He said that the promoters wanted him to wrestle one more match in Puerto Rico but Flair said that he wouldn’t be able to wrestle in a week later. Ric said that he was very happy with the match and it was a very big moment for him because he had his family by the ring side and had his son in law as his tag team partner.

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page has now revealed that he was approached by Ric Flair to participate in his last match. DDP stated that Ric phoned him and asked if he wanted to participate in a match with him. DDP stated that Ric initially inquired about his age, to which he answered that he is 66 years old.

DDP added that after hearing his age, Flair stated that he had seen him and that he is in excellent form. He stated that Ric Flair then stated that he would love to have him in this match, to which DDP responded that he can’t do it and feels better now that he can’t risk injuring himself. DDP revealed that he joked to Ric Flair that he wasn’t from this planet, and that’s when Ric approached him about including him in his roast.

“Ric Flair actually called me and asked me if I would be in the match with him and do a six-man. At first he said, ‘How old are you?’ I said, ‘66.’ He said, ‘I’ve seen you. You’re in great shape. I really would love to have you in this match.’ I said, ‘Ric, I can’t do it. I feel so good. I can’t take a chance of hurting myself.’ He said, ‘I feel great.’ I said, ‘You’re not from this planet.’ That’s when he talked me into doing the roast”

Let’s hope that Ric Flair is in good health and doesn’t announce a last match again.
