Steve Austin and The Rock can make an appearance at WrestleMania 39

As for a known fact, WrestleMania serves as WWE’s biggest show of the year. It’s where stars are made and legends show up for a noble cause. Two such names which almost seemed a ‘lock’ for this year’s Hollywood themed edition were ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and The Rock. At the start of this year, The Texas Rattlesnake posted a ton of workout videos over his social media handles. As a result, that fueled the belief that Austin would wrestle another match at the Showcase of the Immortals.

However, despite being offered to face top stars like Roman Reigns & Brock Lesnar, the Bionic Redneck turned everything down. As for his arch-nemesis The Rock, he was rumored to finally square off against his cousin Roman Reigns at the marquee event. But, just at the eleventh hour, the Black Adam star shared his word with WWE management. He simply rejected the offer due to his inability to commit for the match and attain a workable ring shape in time.

As of now, both legends look pretty vague for even an appearance at this point in Los Angeles. However, the 16-time World Champion Ric Flair really wants to see the Attitude Era torchbearers raise some hell and electrify millions around the world. In an interview with Busted Open Radio, the Nature Boy felt skeptical about his thoughts. He admitted that Rock & Austin are completely different individuals now and have some multi-million empires to take care of. He even praised WWE’s current state to sell out two consecutive nights of WrestleMania with Cody Rhodes as their backup plan for Roman Reigns.

“I hope [Stone Cold] Steve [Austin] and [The] Rock come by. If they don’t, you know, there comes a time in the business, as we all know, when you can’t just keep relying on Steve and Rock. Now John [Cena] is still going, but Steve’s got a whole other life.

Steve’s got an empire. And The Rock’s got an empire. And they don’t need the money, they do it for the love of the business, you know what I mean? But for how long have we been hearing – six months we heard that Rock was going to wrestle Roman, and they say he’s not? And guess what, they’re still sold out with Cody [Rhodes].”

As mentioned, Cody Rhodes will now challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in Hollywood. This would serve as a clash of generations with so much at stake. The Prodigal Son looks to conquer the Island of Relevancy from it’s Tribal Chief. Talking about some other official matches, Brock Lesnar will collide with Omos. Also, Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair defends their respective Women’s Championships against Rhea Ripley and Asuka.

However, there are numerous clashes which are certain to receive the official stamp in the coming weeks. That being said, Logan Paul is inevitably crossing paths with Seth Rollins. The current United States Champion Austin Theory and Finn Balor are on tracks to battle John Cena & Edge in their respective bouts. Not to forget, The Usos will seemingly defend their Undisputed Tag Titles against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
