WWE has a plethora of superstars that have the ‘It’ Factor to become the next big thing in the company. Sadly, many of them were sidelined during the Vince McMahon era, but not anymore! One such sidelined superstar, who deserved a lot more, is Robert Roode, and it looks like he will get a much-deserved push!
Robert Roode is out with an undisclosed injury since June 2022. He revealed going under the knife in late September, but again, did not provide details of his injury. However, that is not a matter of concern anymore, as the ‘Glorious’ one is reported to make his return sooner than later.
PW Insider recently spotted the former Raw Tag Team Champion at his son’s contract signing for a football team. The ‘Glorious’ one looked in great condition, adding fuel to the fire of his return rumors.
Robert Roode made his WWE debut on NXT in 2016 and even won the NXT Championship! His run on the black and gold brand was highly praised and fans couldn’t wait for his career to unfold on the main roster. However, that isn’t exactly what happened.
Roode fell prey to lackluster booking throughout his main roster run, from his debut in 2017 till his recent return in June. However, patience has paid off for Roode and his fans!
After a brief US title run followed by a partnership with Chad Gable, WWE paired him with Dolph Ziggler. Unlike his partnership with Gable, Roode actually formed a formidable alliance, winning the Raw Tag Team Championship, but it never blossomed into something big.
While Dolph Ziggler made a brief return to NXT earlier this year, Robert Roode only played a supporting act. In fact, Roode’s last televised match came on the SmackDown before WrestleMania, where he competed in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which was won by Madcap Moss.

WWE Hall of Famer thinks Robert Roode is the most underrated wrestler
Robert Roode is one of the most underappreciated wrestlers, but WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle shared similar thoughts on the subject on The Kurt Angle show. Kurt indicated that this man is incredibly good and has the potential to be the company’s face once or twice.
It’s not just fans who believe WWE has underutilized Robert Roode. Hall of Famer Kurt Angle once expressed his frustrations with WWE’s booking of the former NXT Champion.
He said, “Bobby Roode is the most underrated wrestler … there. They are not doing right by Bobby. He is so talented. He, I have to say, for me working with, you know, I’ve worked with thousands of talent. Bobby is in my top ten. Is in my top ten.”
WWE has been considering a narrative in which Robert Roode could fit after making a significant comeback to the business, but nothing has been settled for the former NXT Champion, and it appears that seeing Robert in the main event will be a dream for many WWE fans.
Kurt Angle fought alongside and against Robert Roode in TNA, and knows the greatness he brings to the ring. In this new Triple H regime, it’s believed Roode will get a push he deserves. However, reports state that he will make his return on SmackDown, despite currently being listed as a Raw Superstar.
When and where will Robert Roode return is still a mystery, but we can assure you, that whenever he does, it will be ‘GLORIOUS!’
