During a recent interview, The Tribal Chief thought that the popular tight ends could be great fits for WWE as they have all the qualities of superstars.
Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Roman Reigns
Athletes from other sports coming to WWE to try their luck in the squared circle is not a new thing. Numerous personalities from other sports have appeared in WWE, WCW, AEW, and other promotions for decades. Footballers are among the foremost athletes who have worked in WWE in the past. Therefore, when asked about the current NFL lineup that can come to WWE, Roman Reigns had an interesting answer.
While talking to ESPN, Roman Reigns said that George Kittle and Travis Kelce could fit perfectly with the qualities that WWE looks for in their talents. He praised the two TEs from the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs, respectively. Reigns also said that the majority of the superstars in WWE were also football players during their college days.
Travis Kelce currently serves as the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. The 33-year-old was drafted by the team in 2013 and won two Super Bowls for the team, recording a touchdown reception in both wins. He is considered to be one of the greatest tight ends of all time, according to fans and experts in the sport. Kelce holds multiple records for his performance throughout his career and has won numerous matches for his team in the past decade.
On the other hand, George Kittle was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. He has consistently performed well for his team in every season. Therefore, it is no wonder that Roman Reigns sees potential in the two stars and thinks that they can make an impact in WWE if they choose to show up.

WWE Superstars who were former NFL players
If George Kittle or Travis Kelce join WWE, they would not be the first ones to do so. Multiple superstars in the past have had a lengthy career in the NFL before they tried their luck in the WWE. The tradition has been going on since the very beginning of the company’s boom period. The first ones were superstars from the 1980s and 1990s like Lex Luger, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and Ron Simmons.
The trend was then followed by the next generation of footballers, who joined WWE after having a run in the NFL. Goldberg was the biggest acquisition that WCW took from the NFL, as he would go on to become one of the biggest stars in WCW and WWE. In 2004, Brock Lesnar would follow the opposite trend and move on to the NFL after a brief yet successful stint in the WWE.
In the next decade, superstars like Baron Corbin, Mojo Rawley, and, most importantly, Roman Reigns would all play in the NFL and then debut in WWE as professional wrestlers. Recently, NFL Superstar Rob Gronkowski made a few appearances in WWE, even winning the 24/7 title during the WrestleMania 36 weekend.
