On a late Saturday night, when it was almost freezing in Philadelphia, cousins Roman Reigns and The Rock turned the heat on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. The conclusion of a 45-minute tussle saw the Samoans emerge victorious. However, during the match, Pat McAfee, on commentary, said that The Tribal Chief was still battling leukemia. Even though the fans are well-versed in Reigns’ past issues with the cancer of blood-forming tissues, that concern aggravated again.
To clear up the air, the Big Uce was asked to elaborate on Pat McAfee‘s comments about his health at the post-match press conference. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion said he’s still on oral chemotherapy. Moreover, it’s a medication he might remain on for the rest of his life. Roman Reigns did clarify that he doesn’t consider it an impediment to his job as an in-ring performer.
The 38-year-old affirmed that until he’s able to continue wrestling at the highest level, he knows that those ailments are at bay. But still, it’s a part of Roman’s remission, as he quoted. Also, with night 1 of WrestleMania 40 now in the rearview mirror, The Head of the Table is tied with Hulk Hogan for being in most main events at The Showcase of the Immortals.
I'm still on oral chemotherapy, it's a medication that I'm going to have to remain on my entire life most likely. It's just a part of my personal battle. It doesn't affect me, thank God, I'm still able to perform.Roman Reigns on his battle with leukemia
When he heads out tonight again, Reigns will top that. What a historic moment it would be! Yesterday, the Big Dog left his all in the ring. He was even busted open near his nose after eating a Cody Cutter from Rhodes. A moment came when Roman inadvertently speared his own blood, Rock, last night. However, it didn’t prove costly, as the Bloodline duo got the better of its opponents.
Roman Reigns to put his title on the line against Cody Rhodes tonight
Tonight, it’s make or break for Cody Rhodes. Even though he has a shot at finishing his story, The American Nightmare’s back is against the wall. He’ll step into the main event that’s now entitled to be contested under Bloodline rules.
That necessarily means there’s no rule. Anything and everything goes until Roman Reigns’ camp is assured of a favorable outcome. Now, if the entire Samoan family is after Cody, he also needs someone to even up the playing field for him.
That’s when Steve Austin and John Cena‘s names come into play. Rumors suggest that they might be on their way to guide Rhodes on the other side of that finishing line. Meanwhile Roman has an opportunity to continue adorning his record-breaking title reign.
