SPOILER : Roman Reigns’ next Championship defense set for a Major Premium Live Event, possible challenger revealed
Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns almost got himself dethroned this past Saturday at WWE Clash at the Castle against Drew McIntyre in a penultimate showdown for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The match went down in front of over 62,000 members of the WWE Universe in Cardiff at the Principality Stadium.
The two men who are undoubtedly the biggest superstars in this industry proved their metal and kept grinding themselves into the mill to produce one of the most memorable main-events in recent history. You just can’t describe what Reigns and McIntyre went through through words only, of you haven’t watched the match, then please do give a watch because it’s an easy recommendation to make your day.
After challenging each other’s mental and physical toughness every passing minute, Roman Reigns found himself in the mudholes of downfall as when he finally received the penultimate Claymore kick from Drew McIntyre and the count was about to close, referee got pulled out of the ring by a mysterious hoodie person who immediately revealed himself as Solo Sikoa, eventually saving his cousin’s long-built empire.
What’s next for Roman Reigns after Clash at the Castle?
As been already confirmed by Roman Reigns himself during a recent interview that he’s signed to WWE under a new deal which allows to work a much lighter schedule and only major premium live events in a calendar year. Seems like this will be the case moving forward as Reigns is not scheduled to work Extreme Rules in Philadelphia come October 8.
According to Dave Meltzer on his Wrestling Observer Radio, Roman Reigns’ next probable Championship defense will come at WWE’s Saudi Arabia event later this year. Although there is no update on who could possibly face him but several names like Karrion Kross, a rematch with Drew McIntyre can also be on the tables for The Tribal Chief.
