The Bloodline can breathe easy as their beloved Wild Samoan Afa has been discharged from the hospital. After recently being admitted for deteriorating health, the 81-year-old fought pneumonia and a couple of mild heart attacks. However, in a video clip shared by Roman Reigns uncle’s WXW Wrestling‘s X account, Afa can be seen walking freely, though aided by crutches. He expressed his gratitude for everyone who spared a thought for his well-being.

A lot more can be gathered from what the family members of Afa posted on Facebook. They revealed that the former Tag Team Champion was admitted on Thursday. And after being kept under close observation, the South Lake Hospital in Orlando finally showed a green light for the legend. In a snippet shared on Facebook, the Samoan icon seemed excited to go back home and support the San Francisco 49ers.

Modern-day wrestling fans might not have been made aware of the indelible mark Afa and Sika left on this industry. The Wild Samoans were last seen on WWE programming in 2020. They came out to bestow the traditional garland known as Ula Fala on Roman Reigns after he conquered Jey Uso inside Hell in a cell.

More recently, Reigns’ father and cousin were set to make their return on Raw’s 30th anniversary last year. However, a last-minute health scare precluded the planned appearance. As a result, the segment was transmogrified into the Tribal Court of Sami Zayn, which turned out to be epic.

Roman Reigns is gearing up for the Royal Rumble

Roman Reigns continues to make his father, Sika, and uncle, Afa, proud. He’s already fourth on the list of longest reigning champions in WWE history. After well over 1200 days as the Universal Champion, his next title defense is not too far.

In a couple of weeks, he’ll go to work in a fatal 4-way match against Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight. To make things official, a contract signing is set for this week’s SmackDown. Apart from that, Reigns’ cousin and Hollywood sensation Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is also on the hunt for The Tribal Chief.

Recently, in a behind-the-scenes video of his groundbreaking return at Raw: Day 1, he vowed to do things that have never been done before in WWE. Also, the rumor that was making the rounds suggesting Rock vs. Reigns would happen at the Elimination Chamber has also been quashed.
